What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Inspector position at Seaboard Energy?
SUMMARY : The Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity function is responsible for the reliability of Seaboard Energy fixed equipment assets at facilities located in Hugoton, KS, Guymon, OK, Madera, CA and St. Joseph, MO as well as future assets of the Company. The Chief Inspector ensures that assets are maintained in accordance with various Codes, as well as Federal and State regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned at management's discretion.
- Accountable for Seaboard Energy's Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity programs overall.
- Develops Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity policies and implements relevant management system elements and key requirements.
- Prepares and manages annual budget for inspection activities.
- Trains and mentors engineers and inspectors in Fixed Equipment Mechanical Integrity.
- Acts as liaison with relevant authorities.
- Represents Seaboard Energy at relevant external events and related associations.
- Attends regular facility meetings as the onsite representative for Mechanical Integrity of all fixed equipment.
- Takes ownership of the Seaboard Energy fixed equipment mechanical integrity program.
- Gathers information from facilities and build assets in designated database.
- Enters historical data and inspection events into database.
- Establishes inspection intervals for fixed equipment.
- Identifies and addresses existing gaps in fixed equipment mechanical integrity program.
- Establishes KPIs to track progress on all metrics.
- Ensures that periodic inspections of piping, pressure vessels, and tanks are completed as scheduled in accordance with applicable Codes, jurisdictional and / or company requirements, investigates problems and reports findings. Works with facility management to schedule and conduct the inspections.
- Prepares reports for completed inspections in a timely manner and makes recommendations for continued service to facility managers. Follow up on recommendations and document outcomes.
- Plans and participates in turnaround inspection activities.
- Participates actively in the Seaboard Energy management of change (MOC) program.
- Coordinates / schedules work with appropriate Company personnel and third party contractors.
- Supervises contractors and Company personnel as applicable.
- Other duties as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Work environment consists of office, plant production, and outside climate conditions. Noise level varies within the production area.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE : Monday through Friday, working hours to be determined. Occasionally extended hours or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
