SUMMARY: The Lead Maintenance Technician serves as a hands-on leader responsible for coordinating daily maintenance activities and supporting a multi-disciplinary team, including Mechanical and Instrumentation/Electrical Technicians. This position plays a key role in executing maintenance tasks while ensuring safe work practices, efficient use of resources, and alignment with site priorities. In addition to tool-based responsibilities, the Working Lead will provide support in planning and scheduling efforts, helping to optimize long-term maintenance execution and team performance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment and may include exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, confined spaces, elevated surfaces, fumes, dust, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided. While portions of the job may take place in a climate-controlled office setting, most work occurs in operational areas where safety awareness and physical readiness are essential. NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Days/M-F. The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasional changes in schedule may be required as special circumstances arise.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Coordination
- Provide daily oversight and task coordination for mechanical and I&E maintenance teams, serving as a resource and mentor while working alongside the team.
- Help ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies.
- Facilitate communication between craft teams, contractors, and site operations to align maintenance work with production needs.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems in the biodiesel facility.
- Assist in the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the site.
- Ensure proper documentation of maintenance work and equipment records.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Collaborate with site personnel to help scope and coordinate upcoming maintenance work.
- Support the development of job plans, scheduling activities, and coordination with vendors and materials management.
- Assist in maintaining accurate data in the CMMS system and support weekly maintenance schedule reviews.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of maintenance workflows, documentation, and job preparation.
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred.
- 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with exposure to both mechanical and electrical/instrumentation disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and coordinate team efforts in a safe, effective manner.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning and scheduling tools or systems preferred (e.g., CMMS software).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments and with external vendors.
- Commitment to continuous learning and contributing to the growth and development of the maintenance team.
