Responsibilities
- Assist production managers in overseeing daily farm operations and achieving production targets.
- Support farm managers by addressing questions, gathering and interpreting data, and helping resolve operational issues.
- Participate in weekly farm audits to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and proper maintenance of facilities.
- Assist in providing guidance to farm managers on achieving production and cost targets and completing accurate and timely reports.
- Shadow production managers to learn about creating and managing employee work schedules and maintaining personnel records.
- Participate in training programs to build leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Use data to analyze current issues at the farm and train managers and employees in that area until the issue is resolved.
Required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with diverse groups, including employees and senior management.
- Critical thinking and judgment skills to analyze situations and develop solutions.
- Demonstrated desire to lead, coach, and develop a team to achieve shared goals.
- Basic math, analytical, and logistical skills to assist in problem-solving.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operational procedures, and production reports.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Associate degree from a 2-year college or technical school preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in swine production, agriculture, or related fields preferred but not required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gasses at low concentrations or wet and/or humid conditions.
- The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed, and hog dust.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate while in the office but can occasionally be loud.
