What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Production Worker position at Seaboard Foods?
JOB PURPOSE
Full-time positions that are fast-paced and require repetitive motion. Variety of jobs associated with pork processing that employees may perform. Variety of shifts and schedules available. On-the-job training provided; related experience is not necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a variety of tasks that require manual material handling and the use of hand tools, knives, machinery and equipment while processing, packaging and shipping pork products
- Physically demanding work that can require the use of some or all body parts and muscle groups
- Good hand-eye coordination and upper extremity motor skills are essential for most job tasks
- Additional essential functions may be applicable to specific jobs
- Available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime depending on production needs
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull at least up to 50 pounds
- Must wear all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) for the position while working
- Must be able to work in a hot and wet environment
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and use some or all body parts and muscle groups in physically demanding work
- Good hand-eye coordination and upper extremity motor skills
