Position Title : Payroll Processor
Reports To : Senior Payroll Processor
Schedule : Monday through Friday business hours and additional as required
Location Houston, TX
Position Supervised None
Required Qualifications
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience : Accounting and payroll working experience
Languages English
Traits : Ability to work well with others, team player, self-starter, proactive, well organized
Preferred Qualifications
Skills / Software : Strong Microsoft Excel experience, Word, Outlook, Workday, NSE
Duties and Responsibilities :
Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Interact with Captain on payroll voucher discrepancies
- Generate union reports and cross reference with vessels crewing
- Assist and support operations with monthly variance analysis for crew wages and benefits
- Produce annual wage and benefit budgets by vessel in conjunction with operations
- Enter elected 401k deductions for crewmembers
- Review status of transfers when someone moves from a vessel on one labor agreement to a vessel with a different labor agreement to ensure all data properly transferred
- Enter direct deposit details
- Enter tax elections
- Reconcile Master's Cash
- Analysis, preparation and entry of all payroll information to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
- Preparing budget and cost details for all labor agreements and each relevant vessel
- Prepare cost analysis for contract negotiations
- Prepare and maintain budgets for crew costs and support relevant divisional operations teams
