SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Engineering Technician III.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: The Engineering Technician plays a key role in both technical and administrative elements of project execution.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Performs non routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents which are not fully applicable. Such assignments, which are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems.
- Receives technical advice from supervisory or engineer; work is reviewed for technical adequacy (or conformity with instructions). May be assisted by higher level technicians.
- Develops or reviews designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data.
- Applies conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and diagrams; hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems; and building site layouts.
- Conducts tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures.
- Sets up and operates equipment.
- Records data, measures and records problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level; and analyzes data and prepares test reports.
- Applies methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects; constructs experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducts tests or experiments and redesigns as necessary; and records and evaluates data and reports findings.
Qualifications:
Education: Technical School Diploma, related Navy "C" School preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably with RF and EW systems.
The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of Electrical System Assembly, Chassis Wiring, Cable Termination, Electrical Circuits, Mechanical and Electrical Schematic Diagrams, and Testing, knowledge and experience with Electronic Systems, and experience with Project Management of government contracts.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. Electronics Assembly and Testing Laboratory - Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Significant use of small hand and electrical tools that require fine motor skills. Significant use of computers, including use of a mouse and keyboard as well as viewing computer screens. Occasional lifting <40 lbs.; infrequent lifting of <40lbs., occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions for temperature and lighting, with some potential exposure to fumes associated with soldering. Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses and safety shoes recommended.
