Seacrest is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Computer Science Teacher to develop and lead an engaging curriculum that spans both middle and upper school levels. This role is an exciting opportunity to shape a cutting-edge program that fosters computational thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and expertise to the classroom, helping students explore programming, algorithms, and emerging technologies in real-world, hands-on applications. This is a full-time position teaching a variety of computer science courses across both divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of courses, effectively differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of middle and upper school students.
- Create and implement a comprehensive, scaffolded computer science curriculum that bridges middle and upper school, ensuring skill development at every level.
- Incorporate computational thinking, programming languages, and design technology into engaging and relevant coursework.
- Instruct students in computer science concepts, including problem-solving, programming, algorithms, data structures, and emerging technologies.
- Foster a growth mindset and a collaborative learning environment, encouraging students to take intellectual risks and explore computer science applications.
- Stay current with emerging trends in computer science education and integrate them into lesson plans.
- Partner with other faculty to explore interdisciplinary opportunities and integrate computer science across the school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching experience in computer science or a related field, preferably at the middle and/or upper school level.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C , and familiarity with design technology tools.
- Strong commitment to student-centered learning and innovation in education.
Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
