Position Description

Oversee all aspects of a fire truck service and repair facility. The site is responsible for delivery of new apparatus, servicing apparatus covered by manufactures limited warranty, as well as vehicles out of warranty for many small and large customers. Position will be responsible for the overall probability of the site. Position will lead the growth strategy for the site. This position contains the potential for growth into regional management over multiple locations.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage the Company’s service center in East Brunswick New Jersey. This location provides (i) fleet management for a large customer under a 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, (ii) new truck inspection and delivery, (iii) pump testing and repair, (iv) sells parts and (v) repair services for Seagrave customers as well as all other makes and models of fire apparatus.
- Assure compliance to safety and environmental policies.
- Achieve goals in productivity, quality and cost reduction.
- Coach employees on execution of their tasks.
- Evaluate warranty costs and develop recommendations to reduce warranty costs through (i) changes in product design, (ii) identification of improvements in the manufacturing process and (iii) more efficient field service methods and procedures.
- Communicate with engineering and manufacturing with detailed information if product defect or issue becomes apparent.
- Implement a fleet management system and create offerings that can be sold to customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skill and Abilities Required
- Ability to deal with personal and technical problems and challenges.
- Experience in implementing or being part of a Lean Manufacturing organization.
- Self-motivated with ability to foster moral amongst his/her team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat and Windows
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project. Microsoft Access and other database systems is desirable.
- Dedicated individual with good concentration skills and capable of operating under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills, including oral, written (memos and emails) and presentation skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or related field is highly desirable.
- Experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment.
- Demonstrated success in implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership in producing world class service and repair work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
