Job Purpose
The Straightener Operator shall operate and assist in the functions of straightening material in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He / she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his / her shift.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operator will be responsible for proper set up straightener and insure maximum roll coverage.
- Responsible for straightening and oval shape of tube material in conformance to the required specification.
- Operator will check straighten pipe frequently for marks and overall condition.
- Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shifts.
- Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
- Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
- Assist in changeovers and Mill stops.
- The employee is responsible for assisting with documentation and / or technical devices for recording production and findings.
- Communicating with Supervisor about any problems with material and equipment.
- Employees must clock in and out during shifts. Any misrepresentation of time by the employee or co-worker for such employee shall be grounds for termination.
- Safety is our number one priority. Employees must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
- Employee must report to his immediate supervisor for briefing on daily tasks.
- Provide and assist with good maintenance on the equipment he is operating.
- Employees must maintain good housekeeping ethics. Work areas must be free and clear of debris.
- Refer to Flush-out - Straightener Area SOP.
- Other duties as assigned.
