What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Manager position at Seakeeper Inc?
WHAT YOU’LL DO
We make an extraordinary product. Some might say it defies gravity! As our Manufacturing Manager, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing operations at our beautiful headquarters in Leesport, PA. Our dedicated production team is currently working across three shifts to maximize output of Seakeepers, revolutionizing the boating experience for our customers! In this position, you will be at the forefront of this exciting endeavor, leading and inspiring the teams that are making a significant impact. In this role you’ll wear many hats including the following:
People Leader:
- Leading all aspects of Gyro Manufacturing, including 1st, 2nd, and 4th shift operations in addition to our talented Packout and FAT teams, which include frontline managers, supervisors, and staff
- Maintaining a positive environment, while motivating and directing our teams
- Preparing production schedules and coordinating manufacturing activities with the operations team to ensure production quantities, quality of products meet plans and specifications, and new product/engineering change cut ins are activated effectively
Manufacturing Optimizer:
- Driving continuous improvement throughout the production and manufacturing process, increasing capacity and improving operational effectiveness and efficiency
- Understanding optimal personnel and capital resources needed meet production goals and communicating requirements and any potential risks
- Creating, planning and executing annual production budget
- Maintaining and optimizing relevant metrics for efficiency, quality, costs, safety, and other aspects of plant operations
- Ensuring safety and environmental practices are maintained and all regulatory requirements are met and exceeded
- Establishing, maintaining and monitoring standards for product cost, scrap and quality
- Driving programs to continually reduce manufacturing cycle time and maximize inventory turns
- Leading efforts to expand plant capabilities, extend value chain and reduce lead times to customers
- Reviewing production and operating reports and resolving operational, manufacturing and maintenance challenges to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays
Other:
- Preparing regular operational reports that detail variances from plan or budget
- Ensuring compliance with corporate financial, production and inventory reporting procedures for the plant
- Reviewing operations and financial performance against annual operating targets
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

MUST-HAVES
- Bachelor's in engineering or business or a relevant subject
- 5 years of progressive responsibility in management roles in a manufacturing environment directly managing manufacturing or production teams across multiple shifts
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment that manufactures a technical product
- Experience using an ERP or MRP system to drive process improvement and manufacturing optimization
- Be comfortable working in an industrial plant environment and being hands-on and frequently active on the plant floor and being available for the team as needed before or after normal working hours
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Experience using and implementing an MRP system
