POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for day-to-day maintenance operations and improving the plant at the lowest possible cost through the use of effective manufacturing methods and leadership. The Maintenance Manager supervises, motivates, and supports the maintenance team daily, while applying a team approach and maintaining open communication.
The Maintenance Manager performs essential functions to ensure overall customer satisfaction with quality and service and establishes/maintains effective communication within operations and support components. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to reduce bottlenecks and increase equipment effectiveness.
This position, along with the maintenance team, is accountable for meeting OEE targets, as well as playing a key role in meeting the companywide profitability and customer satisfaction goals
Essential Functions
o Follow and ensure that all Key Operating Procedures are being upheld, including but not limited to:
o Company and facility Policies
o Safety – LOTO/LTCT; use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules
o Ensure safe functionality of all equipment
o Follow all safety verification procedures
o Quality – Machine capability and defect elimination
o SOPs – Methods for performing work
o 5S/Housekeeping- Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized
o Follow GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Processes)
o Food/Safety Security Policy Adherence
o HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
• Provide organizational development leadership.
• Active member of the site HACCP/Food Safety/Product Quality Teams.
• Directs, participates and is accountable for the safe work of the maintenance team – scheduling work assignments, materials, follow-up, etc.
o Works with production and technical resources to optimize the performance and safety of the machines.
o Schedules monthly PM activities for all applicable equipment.
o Meet with production Supervisors daily to discuss machine or infrastructure issues.
o Schedule, plan and oversee contract workers. Including, work schedule, review (safety and work plan), follow-up, etc.
o Defines measures and goals for area performance and audits performance to maintain unit at its best demonstrated capability.
o Meet cost goals. Define, measure, chart, reduce, etc.
o Ensure appropriate maintenance input and involvement in all capital projects for the site.
o Actively participate in internal/external quality non-conformances/complaints.
o Investigations, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, Sustainment
o New equipment as for PSSR.
o Contractors administered as per Contractor Procedure.
o All changes to production area and equipment as per Management of Change-----Communication, Approval, and Documentation.
o All lock outs as per Lock, Tag, Clear, Try procedure.
o Communicate in a positive and respectful manner to resolve all issues.
o Strong Leadership, organization & communication skills are required.
Qualifications
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: A Degree (or equivalent operational experience) preferably in engineering because of the wide range of technical understanding involved. A degree in management along with engineering will provide a distinct advantage.
Experience: Minimum 2 years maintenance background (including electrical and programming) and a minimum of 5 years of Management experience
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Oracle, CAD, and Minitab
Certificates & Licenses: Maintain CPR, First Aid, and Forklift Truck certification; Electro-Mechanical Engineering
Other Requirements: Ability to read and interpret standard measuring tapes and quality testing equipment. Good troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Good communicator and people skills. Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision. Strong analytical skills.
Salary : $75,000 - $108,000
