Assistant Project Manager
- Act as liaison between the Project Manager and the technical disciplines involved in a project
- Facilitate and or assist the PM and or Superintendent with daily operations of field work activities and organization of trade subcontractors
- Interpret drawings for trade subcontractors
- Coordinate the implementation of a project and its design, ensuring it is being built according to the project plans and specifications
- Develop submittal log and review on daily basis
- Review, process and distribute submittals
- Review, process and distribute RFIs
- Review, process and distribute post approval documents
- Review returned RFIs and route to appropriate trade contractors
- Manage CPM schedules & Updates.
- Assist with preparation of 3 Week Look Ahead Schedules
- Coordinate all shop drawings
- Acquire potential change order costs from subcontractors for review and approval
- Develop a materials and submittal procurement log
- Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in material deliveries and project coordination
- Create and maintain a bill of materials
- Develop Dust Control Plan
- Assist and or coordinate inspections and inspections
- Maintain jobsite temporary facilities
- Assist and or coordinate facilitation of the SWPPP Plan
- Assist and or create project site daily reports with project progress photos
- Assist and or coordinate the completion of punch-list work
- Create, update and maintain the project closeout document plan and binder
- Assist and or prepare meeting minutes and distribute to the appropriate parties
- Obtain, coordinate and maintain the submission and approval of permits required for the work
- Obtain, coordinate and maintain the submission and approval of traffic control plans
- Coordinate and facilitate the process of utility investigations, including USA and GPR
- Assist PM with scope, contract and PO creation for new projects. Prepare comprehensive subcontractor & supplier scopes of work
- Assist PM and Superintendent with the development baseline construction schedule
- Assist Estimator with the bid process and assist PM with project budget preparation
- Assist PM with schedule of value creation for subcontractors and prime contract.
- Assist PM and Superintendent with the project close-out processes
- Analyze and evaluate project timeline on a monthly basis to ensure on-time project delivery
- Work closely with Superintendent and project team on a daily basis to overcome project hurdles
- Develop and write letters to subcontractors for deficiencies, delays and other issues that arise over the course of the project.
- Maintain and enforce project site safety programs
- Ensure all administrative systems are properly set-up, implemented, supervised and maintained through the use of various applications and Procore
- Create and maintain a positive work environment at the job site
- Assist and or facilitate the mobilization and demobilization of the project site.
· Knowledge of construction principles/practices required
· Experience working with a successful project team
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of construction delivery systems, the construction administration processes, technical aspects of construction including means and methods, materials, building systems, planning, scheduling and estimating
- Experience dealing with trade subcontractors
- Well developed time management and organization skills
· Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Must be proficient in plan reading
