Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist

We are leaders in Commercial Real Estate with a HQ office in the Perimeter area of Atlanta seeking a Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist to lead payroll processing and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service for our employees. Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Serve as the company’s payroll expert, managing and processing payroll for approximately 150 employees on a biweekly basis with precision and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations, handling payroll tax filings, W-2s, and quarterly reconciliations.
- Process employee data for new hires, terminations, salary changes, and deductions, ensuring seamless payroll integration with stock options, 401(k) contributions, and HSA accounts.
- Monitor and reconcile payroll system interfaces, ensuring accurate data flow between HRIS, payroll, and accounting systems.
- Provide training and guidance to managers and employees on payroll policies, system usage, and best practices.
Benefits Administration
- Act as the subject matter expert on all company-sponsored benefits, including health, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), and wellness programs.
- Lead the onboarding benefits presentation, guiding new hires through enrollment and plan options.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, claims, and status changes.
- Work closely with brokers and vendors to oversee open enrollment, maintain accurate employee benefit records, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (ACA, COBRA, workers’ compensation, etc.).
- Prepare and reconcile monthly carrier invoices, updating HRIS records for accuracy and reporting purposes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPP, PHR, or SHRM-CP preferred.
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing, with strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with benefits administration, HRIS platforms, and payroll systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear guidance to employees at all levels.
- Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
