GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Assistant- Payroll performs a full range of HR and office administrative support involving sensitive and confidential information for the Owner Operator weekly payroll.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Prepare and assist with weekly owner operator settlements using multiple systems which include:
- Prepare and preliminary review of driver pay audits for review by the Driver Manager team.
- Utilize Alvys transportation system to make corrections and cross check multiple pay categories for all all owner operator pay and deductions.
- Import payroll from Alvys to Paylocity, a third party payroll provider.
- Monitor, verify and complete incoming owner operator requests.
- Act as an employee advocate for driver inquiries, assist as necessary or direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Participates in driver orientation to introduce and explain settlement procedures and policies.
- Entry of new drivers into Paylocity weekly.
- Assist with office personnel on-boarding including drug screens, background checks and other new hire requirements.
- Provide administrative support to the HR Manager by tracking lease terms, rental agreements and maintaining departmental spreadsheets, mailing, scanning, faxing, shredding, filing and other related duties.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) plus years of Human Resources experience with an emphasis in payroll
- processing preferred.
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Accounting or Business desired.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations helpful.
- Moderate user of Microsoft Office Suite with working knowledge of MS Excel/
- Word/Outlook
- Ability to thrive in a busy and demanding work environment.
- Experience using transportation computer software a plus.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned duties accurately and proficiently while being flexible for change.
- Deadline driven with a strong sense of urgency.
- Excellent attendance record.
