A well-established Family Office located near Brookhaven, GA (near I-85) is looking for a meticulous Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who values stability and is seeking long-term career advancement.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing financial data and processing accounting transactions in accordance with General Accounting Principles. This position will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports. Reporting directly to the Controller of the Management Company, the Senior Accountant will be an integral part of a collaborative team, with opportunities for professional growth within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring proper approvals are obtained.
- Reconcile credit card statements and bank accounts, verifying transactions daily.
- Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses and accruals, and prepare necessary journal entries.
- Assist with month-end close by reviewing general ledger entries, posting journal entries, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Manage intercompany payables and receivables, generating invoices as needed.
- Analyze current accounting and financial processes to identify areas for efficiency improvements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data while preparing monthly financial reports.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and compile reports for management review.
- Support monthly forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow analysis by compiling detailed reports.
- Facilitate cash transfers and financial transactions as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to support financial decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 4-6 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, and internal controls.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on delivering meaningful results and consistent contributions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
