Role: Assembly Technician
Location: San Diego, CA (in-office)
Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000 stock options, 401k matching, and other benefits
Role Overview:
Seasats has built a rapidly growing fleet of boats, and we only plan to accelerate from here. To help us hit ambitious production goals, we are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an integral member of our assembly team, you will work hands-on with our engineers to assemble, test and install components for our boats. Your attention to detail, proficiency with tools, and ability to troubleshoot will play a key role in ensuring the high standards of quality and performance that Seasats is known for.
About You:
You are a proactive and self-motivated individual who thrives in busy environments. You have proven experience in an assembly or mechanical technician role, and you’re skilled using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment. Additionally, you have:
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Experience with composites or fine carpentry (preferred but not essential).
- Basic knowledge of electrical assembly and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and documentation.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Organization and prioritization skills to and able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Role Details:
You’ll work in our San Diego facilities, collaborating with our mechanical and electrical teams to take components from each department and transform them into complete, high-quality, and reliable products. Day-to-day, you will:
- Assemble, inspect, test and install mechanical and electrical components for Lightfish (and potentially future products), following detailed technical drawings and assembly instructions.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to assemble systems and sub-systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure efficient and safe assembly operations.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify and solve assembly-related issues.
- Conduct routine inspections and quality control checks to ensure components meet high standards.
- Document assembly procedures, test results, and any discrepancies encountered during the assembly process.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving assembly issues as they arise.
- Continuously improve assembly processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Utilize the manufacturing execution system to ensure traceability of parts and inventory.

Hiring Notes:
