What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Seaside Behavioral Healthcare Inc?
This position is for a direct support professional on a six month contract, which could possibly be renewed in an ongoing basis. The starting pay is $20 an hour with a promotion to $25 an hour for having completed the direct support professionals year two training. The pay is monthly, being processed by the 17th of each month, for hours worked the month prior. After a 90 day probationary period, monthly pay can be switched to weekly pay upon request.
This contract will be to provide one on one support services as a DSP, for one specific client. Individuals who have experience working with residents who have behavior problems are encouraged to apply. Individuals interested in watching football and other sports are also encouraged to apply.
Overview

Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication schedules.
- Observe and document client behaviors and progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Uphold resident rights and dignity while providing direct support.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding client confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in direct support or caregiving is preferred.
- Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy is essential.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus.
- CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills to monitor client health and behavior effectively.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
