What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Seaside Community Development Corporation?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty:
- Prepares timely, complete, and accurate monthly financial reports, to include calculation and posting of associated accruals, interest amortization, prepaid expenses, bank and other reconciliations, and property budget variance analysis.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices and payment requests.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial record
- Maintain organized documentation for all accounts payable transactions and vendor communications. To include W9s, and 1099 process at year end.
- Responsible for all payables and other accounting documents and records, including coding of invoices, review of invoice coding by property management teams, and/or entering invoices into the appropriate accounting software.
- Processes mortgage, real estate tax, sales tax, and other critical payments timely and ensures internal databases are updated and maintained accordingly.
- Reviews and/or pulls daily bank activity and ensures correct application of cash receipts.
- Prepares and submits ACH and wire transfers for processing ensuring proper documentation and approvals are included.
- Proficient knowledge of computer software and hardware (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite Products). Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Two-three years of accounting work experience; OR equivalent combination of education and or experience.
- Prior experience in QuickBooks and Bill.com not required but highly preferred.
Communication Skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Ability to effectively present information in a clear, articulate, and accurate fashion.
- Ability to calculate figures such as percentages, discounts, interest, and commissions.
- Requires strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to conduct independent financial analysis.
Other Skills/Abilities
- Ability to identify problems and take corrective action in varying and sometimes ambiguous circumstances and with limited information.
- Ability to follow directions and provide timely follow-up and follow-through on assigned tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
