Seastreak provides fast passenger ferry services in the New York metropolitan area and Massachusetts, connecting New Bedford to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
Job Summary: Seastreak is now hiring dockhands to work on the dock in Nantucket, MA.
2024 Season Dates : April 25- October 14; peak season is from June 13- September 2
Primary Responsibilities:
As a Dock Worker, you will be the first person our valued customers speak to and interact with. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting passengers with luggage, bikes, etc.
- Scanning customer tickets for boarding, and directing passengers onto the Seastreak vessel
- Loading and unloading freight shipments
- Assisting Seastreak customer service representative in the office
- Being able to answer customer questions
- Delivering supplies to vessel personnel
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be able to life 50 lbs
- Must have TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card or the ability to obtain one. (Will be reimbursed by Seastreak)
- Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug test and enroll in Seastreak’s random drug testing program required by the United States Coast Guard
- Can provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism to all passengers
- Willingness to familiarize oneself with Seastreak’s current offerings and schedules to best assist customers
- Weekend and holiday availability
