Seastreak is seeking an Office Manager to oversee shoreside operations in New Bedford, MA. This person will work closely with the management team and will be responsible for staff (ticket agents, valet, shuttle drivers, etc.…) scheduling and management, relationship management, customer service, and local marketing for Seastreak New Bedford. Seastreak New Bedford operates from mid-April through mid-November, though we expect this employee to work with New Jersey management during the off-season to strategize and prepare for the subsequent sailing season.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage office, dockhands, and parking lot staff, prepare work schedules and assign specific duties
- Reconcile daily revenue and banking information
- Oversee all in-house accounts and vendor relationships, freight and concessions
- Responsible for seasonal set-up and breakdown for all office locations in region (New Bedford, Providence, Bristol, Nantucket, Oak Buffs, Vineyard Haven)
- Manage charters, ticket sales and group sales
- Work with New Jersey office to perform ticketing/reservation system maintenance as needed
- Assist with creating a payroll and operational budget
- Maintain high-level of customer service, work with team to promptly answer customer emails and phone calls
- Represent Seastreak and maintain relationships with local community, businesses & government
- Create and implement new products and services as needed to support the growth of the business
- Direct food & beverage purchasing, inventory control and pricing
- Focus on P&L management, develop strategies for meeting and exceeding goals
- Organize and manage community outreach programs
Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
- Hospitality/Event Management fields (or other fast-paced, high customer volume environment(s))
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred and/or 5 years of management experience
- Strong operational knowledge of computer databases and office programs (MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word)
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and proposals
