Job Overview
We are a fast growing residential Electrical, Plumbing & HVAC company looking for a qualified, full-time, Permit Specialist to aid in the success of our company's growth. This position is full time position. (Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Continuous communication with controlling jurisdictions, clients, engineers, and project managers
- Responsible for pulling permits expeditiously, maintains all records and ensures all permits remain active throughout the duration of a project
- Research city/county requirements for permitting process on specific project locations
- Prepares, tracks, and reviews for completeness, accuracy, status, or eligibility a variety of documents and records such applications; and determines adequacy of documentation for local jurisdictions
- Maintain Permitting Excel Spreadsheet, Process Sales, Permits and Inspections daily
- Follow-up with city/county contacts to expedite permit issuance
- Provide exceptional customer service to our customers and inspectors about any/all issues that arise
- Communicate corrections to the correct department/technician, track tasks for return trips
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have proficient spreadsheet experience
- Spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation is very important
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain meticulous records.
- Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, meet deadlines, highly detail orientated and high productive.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required
- Experience in permitting a plus
- Ability to complete work on schedule
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and type
- Speaking and hearing ability; heavy communication through talking and listening to employees and clients directly as well as through telephone conversations to resolve issues
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- May lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
