What are the responsibilities and job description for the Join Our Team as a Front Desk Associate - Unleash Your Passion for Dogs! position at Seattle Canine Club?
Are you a dog lover? Imagine spending your days surrounded by playful dogs, making their tails wag and their hearts happy. If this sounds like a dream come true, then we have an exciting opportunity for you!
At the Seattle Canine Club, we are a social hub for dogs, offering daycare, playtime, and boarding services for our furry friends. Located just south of downtown Seattle, we are seeking reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as our new Front Desk Associates. While prior experience is a plus, we are willing to train the right candidates who share our love and dedication for dogs. These are new positions as we are restructuring our team dynamics and are in need of full-time members for this new role.
As a Front Desk Associate, you will enjoy a fun and positive work environment, although be prepared for a physically demanding role that requires serving customers, welcoming dogs, coordinating activities, being on top of the phone, and lots of cleaning!
We currently have 2 part-time positions available, offering approximately 22.5 hours per week, with opportunities for more hours. We are offering consistent schedules Monday-Friday for someone who is looking for steady hours to work around other responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Be the first person dogs and humans see when they come into the building. You'll welcome them and check them in (or out). After that, you'll bring dogs to the play areas and stow leashes away.
- Update our software with check-ins and successfully check out dogs with full payment before they leave the building. Wranglers will prepare dogs for you, but the last 25 feet will be part of your responsibility.
- Answer the phone and take reservations, appointments, and provide information over the phone to customers.
- Clean all front areas of the building (where dogs don't play), including supporting kennel cleaning, kitchen, bathrooms, etc. You'll be supported by Wranglers and Supervisors on the cleaning duties.
- Work together with the supervisors on coordinating activities, chores, and duty management.
- Support especially the groomers' duties, as this is our current fast-growing business.
- Learn your way to the world of dog care - with career progression towards dog wrangling, training, bathing, or grooming.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated energy and stamina for a physically demanding role.
- A genuine passion for working hands-on with dogs of all shapes and sizes.
- Punctuality, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility - we are seeking a trustworthy member who we can rely on steadily during work hours. This is the most critical aspect of the role.
- Patience, tolerance, and a love for dogs' quirks, including barking, waste, odor, and hair.
- A high sense of cleanliness - We want you to help set the highest standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Great customer presence - you'll be the face of our team on a daily basis.
- Desire to learn every day - we'd like to see you move on from this job to administration, training, or other roles where we can help you get there.
We offer:
- A great place to work - you all make the backbone of this business, and management strives to create a great environment for all.
- Training - from onboarding you into all of the club's activities, to dog first aid and CPR, training, or administrative tasks where your superpowers might take you.
- Career progression opportunities after the first year - including training costs.
Join our pack and make a difference in the lives of dogs while pursuing your passion. If you're ready to dive into this exciting opportunity, apply today and let your love for dogs shine!
