Position Summary
The HR Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources department by managing administrative HR functions while also contributing to the company’s recruitment efforts. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, processing HR documentation, coordinating onboarding and offboarding procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor regulations. Additionally, the HR Specialist will support the full-cycle recruitment process and training coordination. The HR Specialist is detail-oriented, data-driven, highly organized, and possesses strong communication skills to support both HR operations and talent acquisition initiatives. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining a positive employee experience while upholding HR best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Managers and Team Members regarding HR related questions and concerns.
- Coordinate HR or Safety training programs to improve skillsets, knowledge, and performance of Employees.
- Partners with Managers, SCC Staff and SCC Vendor Partners securing a positive onsite training experience.
- Assist in the development and documentation of HR practices, policies, procedures, training materials and other communication tools to ensure departments meet compliance requirements.
- Talent acquisition responsibilities to included job postings, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews. Maintains all interview guides and candidate documents.
- Lead the offboarding process and conduct Team Member exit interviews and provide feedback to appropriate Managers.
- Coordinate and actively participate in initiatives that support retention, recognition, and workforce development aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop and manage employee recognition programs to celebrate achievements, milestones, and contributions.
- Collect, verify, and analyze data (i.e. recruitment, hiring, turnover ratios, etc.) creating reports for the Director of Human Resources.
- Creates, runs, and distributes ad-hoc HRIS reports, including but not limited to employee rosters, reporting relationships, and individual management requests as directed.
- Responsible for annual compliance reporting such as the EEO-4.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Understand principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
- Processes employee paperwork including data entry in HR software systems
- Monitor compliance requirements within established deadlines
- Maintain all SCC bulletin boards to ensure accurate and important information is communicated effectively.
- Responsible for maintaining template inventory of all HR forms and documents and ensure appropriate documents are available at designated locations across the facility.
- Assist the HR Generalist – Talent Acquisition and Development in achieving recruitment and development goals or programs.
- Assist the HR Generalist – Benefits and Leave in achieving benefits related goals or programs.
- Assist with projects or limited term assignments as directed by the Director of Human Resources

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years increasingly responsible human resources experience.
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR Certification.
- Direct experience with confidential information and providing a high level of customer service.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Schedule: Typically, Monday to Friday. Flexibility to work evenings/weekends dependent on event schedule.
