The position: We are seeking to fill a Carpenter position. Under the supervision of a Trade Supervisor or Maintenance Operations Supervisor, perform a variety of duties in the carpentry trade, including maintaining, repairing, and replacing existing installations. The ideal candidate has:
- High school or equivalent education as required by the trade apprenticeship program.
- Valid Washington Driver's License with a fully insurable driving record.
What will you do?
- Perform all carpentry tasks related to the construction and maintenance of dwelling units and offices, including but not limited to, installation and/or repair of doors, floors, roofs, partitions, walls, concrete forms, molding, trim, stairs, and cabinets.
- Repair and replace hardware (including panic hardware), weather stripping, and fences.
- Work safely from ladders and swing stages.
- Respond to emergency work after normal working hours.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of materials for daily operations.
- Maintain and repair foundations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures, and continuous improvement of service delivery to assist in attaining the unit/program/department initiatives and goals, agency core strategies, and mission through a spirit of service, teamwork, and respect. Work well with other employees, follow directions, and work well under pressure.
- Attend all required training and safety meetings; use, maintain and replace assigned personal protective equipment; report all injuries and illnesses to supervisor immediately; complete and submit incident/accident reports as required; report hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices to supervisor; and follow all safety and health guidelines, practices, policies and procedures
