What's our need?
Seattle Pacific University is seeking a mission-driven, relational, and highly motivated Transfer Admissions Counselor to join our Undergraduate Admissions team. This role is responsible for recruiting and enrolling new transfer students across fall, winter, and spring quarters. The ideal candidate brings a passion for higher education, a strong understanding of the transfer student experience, and the ability to build authentic relationships with prospective students from diverse backgrounds.
What will you do?
As a Transfer Admissions Counselor, you will:
- Serve as the primary recruiter for transfer students in assigned regions, including travel to community colleges, college fairs, churches, and other outreach events.
- Guide prospective students through the admissions and scholarship process from initial contact through enrollment.
- Review and evaluate transfer applications and transcripts, and make recommendations for admission decisions.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community college counselors, church and military contacts, and other key influencers.
- Meet one-on-one with prospective transfer and post-baccalaureate students to assess fit and communicate SPU's distinctives.
- Collaborate with academic departments, student academic counselors, and others to support the admissions process.
- Help plan and implement on-campus events such as Falcon Nights, Falcon Fridays, Transfer Visit Days, and others that support transfer enrollment.
- Support SPU's commitment to enrolling students from diverse backgrounds and fostering culturally responsive outreach.
Job Requirements:

We're looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as part of the job.
- Demonstrated ability to connect with diverse populations and represent the values of SPU.
- Excellent project management and team collaboration skills.
- Comfort with technology, including CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other applications.
- Experience working with college students or a strong interest in higher education, admissions, or marketing.
- Motivation through mission: Passionate about supporting SPU's mission. Candidates must be aligned with the University's mission and values, and be willing to accept the lifestyle standards of the community.
Bonus if you have:
- A degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, or a related field.
- A degree from SPU and/or direct experience working at SPU.
- Prior experience working specifically with transfer students, or knowledge of military and veteran benefits and services.
