Accountant
The Seattle Seawolves are looking to hire an Accountant in our Tukwila office. The ideal
candidate will have two to three years of accounting experience and a strong
understanding of US GAAP accounting principles. Experience with ticket sales and/or
merchandise is preferred. The candidate will be well organized, with a high attention to
detail, strong communication skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced and
entrepreneurial environment. This is a critical hire that will work closely with the CFO to
scale the function for future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the books and records of the organization using
QuickBooks Online and Ramp to facilitate the monthly closing process.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and
accurate processing.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to vendor or customer accounts.
- Monitor and guide the accounts payable processes and transactions to ensure
timely processing, coding and preparation of payment files.
- Oversee the management of cash and assist with cash forecasts.
- Oversee and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely receipt of cash.
- Perform activities which include analyzing accounts, making journal entries,
performing account reconciliations, preparing reports and financial statements,
and resolving issues as needed.
- Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas
of revenues and expenses.
- Support the management team and department heads with various analysis,
reporting, and special projects as needed.
- Prepare financial statements on a quarterly basis and assist with the annual audit
and tax process.
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices to
enhance efficiency and drive changes to reduce close cycle time.
- Help streamline procedures and improve the efficiency of financial systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/University in Finance, Accounting,
Business, or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting role required,
sports/entertainment industry preferred. • CPA preferred
• Detail-oriented and driven self-motivator with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work productively and multi-task in an unstructured environment with
frequent interruptions.
Compensation will consist of a base salary as well as a generous benefits package
(coverage of 100% of healthcare premiums, etc.)
