What you get to do:
- Assist Park Operations Training Supervisor with executing front line ambassador training program, including new hire orientation, for Ride Operations, Park Quality, Shows, and Guest Arrival
- Ensure a positive guest and ambassador experience through training by presenting energized and enthusiastic classroom educational programs
- Connect new ambassadors to the park experience by providing fun, educational, tours and experiences
- Participate in and assist with Ride Escort and Evacuation Training Drills
- Maintain records for completed training and ambassador counseling/discipline
- Complete training audits and review areas of improvement with ambassadors
- Monitor and assist in addressing any concerns with uniform, grooming, and appearance standards
- Develop trainers and ambassadors by providing training, feedback, and coaching
- Develop and maintain all Standard Operating Procedures, Lesson Plans, and Audits for the department
- Ensure a safe environment for all ambassadors, guests, and animals
- Ensure compliance to all state/federal regulations, park policies, and department procedures
- Maintain the highest level of cleanliness in the park, conduct quality inspections of assigned areas, and follow up on any opportunities to improve
- Oversee completion of daily opening and closing procedures; as well as assigned operating area
- Utilize problem solving skills to ensure positive guest and ambassador resolutions as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
- Must have excellent presentation skills with the ability to adapt style depending on your audience
- Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups and able to maintain enthusiasm
- Must be able to be trained and certified in all areas of Park Operations (Rides, Shows/Quality, Guest Arrival)
- Must be able to complete provided CPR/AED training/certification
- Must have at least three days of open availability – to include a weekend day
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to remain calm and professional during challenging situations
- Must have a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to bend and stoop to assist in cleaning the park
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs and/or walk in sand/rocks
- Must be comfortable working around water
- Must be able to work comfortably outdoors at heights up to 200 feet (350 ft for Skytower)
- Must be able to assist in ride testing by riding all park rides
- Must be able to train on and properly use protective gear
- Must be comfortable with exposure to noise
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes
- Must be available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years old
What Else Is Important:
- Previous training/teaching experience preferred
- Possession or pursuit of a bachelor’s degree preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
- One year guest service experience preferred
