What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Camp Nurse - RN position at SeaWorld Orlando?
What you get to do:
- Provide timely initial first aid/emergency care for guests and employees
- Write proper documentation and reports; keep track of all treatment and care provided
- Actively assist patients and family members coping with crisis and stress; follow-up with referrals as needed
- Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and interacting with guests, answering questions and resolving guest issues
- Participate in the coordination and promotion of special health programs (i.e., blood drives, screenings, immunizations, wellness, etc.)
- Support department by performing miscellaneous tasks, such as general maintenance and upkeep of the Health Services Units, restocking of supplies and contacting proper support units
- Maintain open lines of communications with department leadership regarding respective duties, pertinent issues or concerns
- Participate in required compliance training, including evacuation drills and OSHA training
- Participate in camp check-ins, medication administration and health/medical record reviews
- Maintain a safe work environment and identify potential safety hazards
- Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
- At least 18 years of age
- A state Registered Nurse with current state license or certification
- At least 1 year practice in clinical setting in Emergency or Critical Care
- Have current HealthCare provider certification for CPR/AED
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to provide exceptional guest service
- Able to maintain composure in stressful situations, multitask, make quick decisions, troubleshoot problems with training, and adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment
- Able to train on and properly use protective gear
- Able to stand for entire shift and walk throughout park and parking lot
- Able to walk in sand
- Able to bend, kneel, reach, grasp, twist, and turn with complete flexibility
- Able to carry up to 35 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds alone; up to 150 pounds with assistance
- Comfortable working at heights
- Comfortable working in and around water and around animals
- Able to work independently with little to no supervision
- Able to work in a team environment
- Comfortable speaking over a radio
- Able to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes
- Available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
- Previous guest service experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred (Portuguese and Spanish a plus)
- Knowledge of Occupational Health preferred
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license preferred
