What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Arrival Ambassador position at SeaWorld San Diego?
What you get to do:
Accepts payment at Tolls, sets up traffic cones, directs traffic, and parks cars. Will be working within consistent traffic flow and responsible to maintain area safety for guests and ambassadors. Admits guests into the park. Interacts with guests providing excellent service through all interactions.
- Ensures excellent guest service by responding to guest requirements, expectations, and needs.
- Smiles and greets guests coming into the park.
- Answers questions concerning schedules and general park information.
- Assists with crowd control for guests entering and exiting the park.
- May conduct bag checks, looking for any items that are not allowed into SEA facilities.
- Communicates safety policies to park guests.
- Checks receipt collateral for specialized parking.
- Stops and directs incoming traffic, directs vehicles to parking spaces, admits vehicles to Up Close/VIP parking.
- Directs buses, RVs, and guests with disabled placards/license plates to the appropriate parking sections.
- Use repetitive arm motion and wands to physically direct vehicles to designated lanes and sections of the parking lot.
- Monitor and control vehicle traffic from multiple directions.
- Redistribute, carry, and stock parking cones and cone bars in the parking lot.
- Rearrange and adjust traffic lanes and set up according to the operational need.
- Constantly move around to maintain staffing locations to assist with directing vehicles.
- Continuously direct vehicles into specific parking stalls using hand signals, wands, whistles, and vocal cues.
- Continuously walk from stall to stall directing vehicles into specific parking spaces.
- Maintain a provided safety vest to be worn properly and in good condition.
- Set up, maintain, and remove area signage to include A-frame, wind masters, bollards, and posts.
- Staff Night Lot, directing vehicles to proper exiting.
- Maintain storage sheds to include lifting, organizing, cleaning, and sorting.
- Maintain the Pet Kennel facility.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment by picking up trash and cleaning surrounding areas.
- Cleans/organizes workstations.
- Adjust queue chain and stanchions.
- Assist guests utilizing the Self-Service Ticketing Kiosks.
- Explain admission products and direct guests while in the entrance plaza.
- Enrolls guests and verifies passes and admission products using handheld devices at the park entrance.
- Stamps hands for re-admittance at exit.
- Uses register system to sell, collect zip codes, and issue parking receipts to guests entering through tolls.
- Cash handling while accepting payments and giving change while staffing tolls.
- Ensures guest safety by preventing guests from walking in unsafe areas.
- Removes trash from planters and landscape throughout parking lot.
- Set up, take down, and conduct surveys to include Source of Residency, Guest Satisfaction, and seasonal events.
- Maintains area cleanliness to include sweeping/hosing pathways, picking up trash, scrubbing stains, and
- emptying trashcans; may be required to use chemicals to clean spills.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Occasionally assist other locations and areas in the park as needed.
What it takes to succeed:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Previous customer service experience
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office
- Exceptional communication, guest service, multi-tasking and cash handling skills
- Ability to retain and communicate detailed information about products and pricing
- Ability to learn and effectively use point-of-sale and reservation based selling systems
- Ability to maintain composure and make quick decisions in stressful situations
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and push/pull 50 lbs.
- Ability to work varying shifts and in all weather conditions
Compensation:
- $16.30 per hour
