Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable and receivable processes, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to assist with various tasks within the department. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the daily accounting functions, answering phones, and assisting with miscellaneous accounting projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Receivables:
- Process and record accounts payable invoices and expenses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Handle accounts receivable by ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, posting payments, and managing customer accounts.
- Assist with reconciling accounts payable and receivable statements.
- Phone Support:
- Answer incoming calls related to accounting queries, ensuring professional and courteous responses to customers, vendors, and other departments.
- Direct calls to the appropriate team members and provide information or assistance as needed.
- Miscellaneous Accounting Projects:
- Assist with general bookkeeping tasks and data entry as needed.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Perform filing, organizing, and document management to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Help with ad hoc accounting projects and other tasks assigned by the accounting team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
