We are currently seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager on behalf of our client, a dynamic organization committed to operational excellence and lean transformation.
Position Overview: The Continuous Improvement Manager will be instrumental in driving operational improvements and implementing lean methodologies across the organization. This role will spearhead the lean transformation journey by utilizing best-in-class continuous improvement practices and tools to optimize processes in two facilities. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, action-oriented leader who builds strong support for change initiatives and inspires teams to develop a lean culture .
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive lean transformation initiatives, creating efficient, visually managed processes that allow for real-time identification and elimination of waste across all departments.
- Implement Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean methodologies that align with the organization’s strategic goals, ensuring continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Facilitate lean training programs, Kaizen events, and other initiatives while providing coaching and feedback to strengthen lean competencies at the site level.
- Act as a change facilitator, collaborating with site leadership and lean champions to foster a continuous improvement culture across the organization.
- Develop and manage sustainable lean-related action plans, focusing on both short and long-term goals, while overseeing key projects and their impact on organizational performance.
- Track, measure, and report progress on lean initiatives using key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous advancement of operational excellence.
- Establish and monitor core CI/lean systems, such as SQDC, 5S, Standard Work, and Leader Standard Work, to ensure compliance and optimal utilization.
- Contribute to budgeting and financial planning by evaluating the impact of CI/lean improvements, waste reduction initiatives, and return on investment (ROI).
- Organize and lead the site’s Lean Steering Committee, fostering cross-functional collaboration in CI activities.
- Stay abreast of the latest lean methodologies through benchmarking and ongoing professional development.
- Hire, train, develop, and coach team members, providing supervision when necessary.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience: 8-10 years of demonstrated lean leadership experience, including the successful implementation of lean tools such as Toyota Production System methodologies (A3, Pull Loops, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, TPM, SMED, Kaizen, etc.).
- Expertise: Strong understanding of lean transformation processes, including pull loops, controlled markets, timed delivery routes, and PFEP. Proven ability to integrate safety and ergonomics within lean practices.
- Leadership: Experience managing multi-site responsibilities within a matrix environment, reporting to both local site directors and a broader lean organization.
- Preferred: Experience in leading a successful brownfield lean transformation or equivalent is highly desirable.
