About the Role
SECCA Search Group is seeking a strategic and operations-oriented Vice President of Finance on behalf of a top-tier, publicly traded homebuilder with a commanding presence in the Minneapolis market.
Reporting directly to the Division President, this is a critical leadership role responsible for driving financial performance, managing capital deployment, and supporting operational strategy.
This role is ideal for a highly analytical and business-savvy finance leader who wants to play a hands-on role in pricing strategy, operational decision-making, and long-term financial planning within a large division.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Oversight: Lead all financial operations for the division, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Operational Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Division President and executive team. Provide insight into pricing, cost control, and ROI strategy.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a department of two APs, an analyst, and a closing manager.
- Community Expansion: Support coordination of new community openings, including pricing strategy and lot premium analysis.
- Performance Reporting: Ensure financial accuracy across monthly closings, PTI tracking, and strategic planning sessions.
- Risk Management: Oversee internal controls, support audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Customer-Focused Metrics: Help influence the 10% bonus component tied to customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably in homebuilding or real estate development
- Strong experience leading financial planning and analysis in a growth-focused environment
- Demonstrated ability to partner with operations, land, sales, and construction leadership
- Knowledge of homebuilding-specific systems (e.g., JDE, HMS) preferred
- Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA/CPA a plus)
