Job Summary:
Miller Grove ISD is seeking a dedicated and certified High School English Teacher (9-12) to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will provide engaging and rigorous instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), helping students develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills necessary for academic success.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Texas Educator Certification in English Language Arts (9-12) or be eligible for certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the TEKS for high school English courses.
- Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with TEKS.
- Develop students' critical thinking, reading comprehension, and writing skills.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
- Foster a positive and structured classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student achievement.
- Incorporate technology and literature-based instruction to enhance learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching high school English courses.
- Strong knowledge of literature, composition, and rhetorical analysis.
- Ability to integrate technology and differentiated instructional strategies.
