*This position is hybrid, and requires that the chosen candidate currently resides within commuting distance to Linthicum, MD. JD is required; Maryland Bar preferred.
What you will do:
SECU is seeking an AVP, BSA and Corporate Compliance, who will be responsible for managing and maturing the Regulatory Compliance Management and BSA Compliance Programs; aligning with SECUs goals and regulatory requirements
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and develops BSA and Compliance managers and staff
- Serves as Board appointed BSA Officer
- Ensures regulatory and program reporting is accurate and timely
- Supports SECU Counsel with legal reviews and opinion
- Ensures Fair Lending analysis and reporting, Compliance Reviews and inquiries, are accurate and completed within designated timelines
- Supports SECU projects and initiatives
- Serves as a primary point of contact for regulators, auditors and other stakeholders; support exam preparations; oversee remediation efforts
- Reviews and provides comment for notice of proposed rulemaking, advocating for SECUs interests.
- Oversees daily activities of BSA, Compliance and Legal department functions
- Responsible for development and implementation of staff career paths and training/education
- Conducts annual staff reviews
- Manages department budget
- Supports Governance initiatives and program growth
- Fosters a culture of compliance organizationally
- Support complaint management and policy review processes
- Interact and support CUSO partners and credit union partners
- Prepare and present training (Board, Committee, Staff, etc.)
- Serve on Joint Compliance Committee (JCC) and Capital Area Compliance Roundtable (CACR) to represent SECU
- Adhere to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position, including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations, such as OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act, Fair Lending and Information Security.

What we need from you:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Law degree required. Preferred admission to Maryland Bar.
- Industry certifications required (BSA and Compliance)
- Certified Bank Secrecy Act Professional (CBSAP) certification or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification required or must be obtained within the first year of employment
- Certified Credit Union Compliance Officer (CUCO) Certification or Certified Regulatory Compliance (CRCM) Certification required or must be obtained within the first year of employment
- 10 years of experience in BSA, Regulatory Compliance (to include Fair Lending compliance) required
- 8-10 years of management experience required
- Credit Union experience preferred but not required
Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education. Please Note: We typically hire at or below mid-point, which is $198,800 for this role.
- Salary: Min. $142,000 Max. $255,600
