What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Intelligence Intern position at SECU?
SECU is currently looking for qualified college students to join our 2025 Summer Internship Program. As an Intern, you will have significant learning opportunities on day-to-day projects in specific departments within SECU, while gaining exposure to the credit union and banking industry, as a whole. Our Summer Internship Program will run approximately 10 weeks, starting on Monday, June 2, 2025. The ideal candidate must be able to work 32 hours a week during core hours of Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00 pm. Our internships are hybrid. Interns may need to come into the Linthicum, MD headquarters for new hire orientation and other intern cohort events.
We are seeking two interns for our Business Intelligence (BI) department. The BI interns will:
- Assist with Snowflake data migration.
- Work on dashboard development.
- Support tracking of checking promotion.
- Complete ad hoc reporting requests.
- Responsible for assisting people in the BI department with developing dashboards, writing queries, data validation and other ad hoc items.
- Take training courses related to SSMS, Snowflake and Power BI.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior currently enrolled in an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Pursuing a degree with a focus in computer science, data analytics/science, math, business, or a related field.
- Familiarity with SQL and MS Excel.
- Attention to detail.
- Curiosity, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications
- Ability to work well both independently and on team
- Highly motivated and energetic
- Must have reliable transportation
Hourly rates range between $15 - 20 per hour depending on skill level and internship requirements.
