Under general guidance, the Business Analyst II plays a key role in defining and delivering both business and technical solutions. This position is responsible for gathering and documenting requirements, driving collaboration between stakeholders and development teams, as well as supporting system changes of varying complexities. The BA II contributes to process improvements within the team and is expected to provide mentorship as needed when junior team members are present.
This position will be part of a dedicated project team focused entirely on growth in a core business area. The emphasis of this project is to implement a new Duck Creek suite of insurance software to lay the groundwork for future business growth. Specifically, this position will be focused on identifying and documenting the business requirements and ensure the voice of the customer is heard through the implementation of this new Duck Creek Suite platform.
This is a hybrid role, with the associate required to be in the office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities
- Create functional requirements and documentation for business and technical teams.
- Define current and future state process flows to support business initiatives.
- Identify scope changes and escalate risks/issues as necessary.
- Work on application changes with large scope and minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure alignment between requirements and system design and implementation.
- Facilitate presentations, meetings, and discussions to ensure project clarity.
- Estimate work effort and assist in backlog refinement.
- Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize issues and requests.
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test case creation and execution.
- Participate in system deployment and coordinate change management as needed.
- Administer team tools and ensure proper usage across projects.
- Develop and refine team policies and procedures.
- Provide mentorship to junior associates, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Participate in the System Coordinator role as required.
ESSENTIAL:
- Bachelor's degree in an IT related field, or a Bachelor's/associate degree partners with relevant work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, with exposure to Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), business processes, and requirements gathering.
- Experience in application changes, system integrations, and process improvement.
- Ability to facilitate meetings, present findings, and collaborate cross-functionally with various business and I.T. teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized, proactive, and able to work independently while escalating challenges or shortcomings when necessary.
- Experience with insurance, finance, or IT-related business domains.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools such as Azure DevOps, SQL Server, or other requirements management platforms.
- Agile or process improvement certifications (CSM, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, etc.).
- Experience in mentoring and knowledge-sharing within a team setting.
