Per Diem Security Officer - Special Events and Extra Coverage
Pay: $18.90 per hour to start
Schedule Overview: 16- 24 Hours Per Week assisting with site coverage for multiple client sites travel ranges from West Haven and Hamden. Must have availability for at least two shifts and weekends (1st/2nd, 1st/3rd, 2nd/3rd). Shifts range from 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am.
Qualifications:
• Active Connecticut State Guard Card
• Active Connecticut State Driver's License - Reliable transportation & Clean Motor Vehicle History
• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of Security Experience preferred- Military/ Law Enforcement experience may substitute
• Calm, polite, and professional demeanor.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• High level customer service
University Patrol officers are expected to be able to have bike riding capability, stand for prolonged periods, walk long distances outdoors (6 miles each shift), be comfortable with incident report writing, respond to calls and interact with the campus community. If you have the ability to remain vigilant, withstand prolonged standing, and great customer service skills you are a great fit for this role. Some events are outdoors, exposure to inclement weather is a possibility.
