Securitas Technology, Inc. based in Uniontown, OH, is seeking an experienced accountant with a focus on Inventory to assist with the standup of new ERP’s for the Service and Canadian businesses while also providing support to the Install business component. This role will be involved with the general accounting functionality as well as supporting the businesses in their inventory transactions, physical inventories and cycle counts, inventory transfers and other such functions as they arise. This role will report to the Accounting Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Validate and ensure the valuation of inventory, including work-in-process, on the Balance Sheet, including proposing month-end journal entries, completing all account reconciliations as they relate to inventory and providing supporting documentation and reports as requested by management and external auditors.
- Develop, implement, and monitor all key functions related to inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely.
- Monitor the cycle count progress and results to identify necessary recounts and processes to be monitored and provide regular reports on the results.
- Monitor ADI transfers to technicians for accuracy and cost effectiveness as directed by Purchasing and Distribution Management.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts for both US and Canadian subsidiaries
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations and analysis
- Assist in the preparation of month end closing and year-end audit
- Develop, administer, generate, and distribute weekly, monthly and/or quarterly reports to corporate and executive management
- Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- Experience: 3-7 years’ relevant experience in a business environment, Canadian business, and foreign currency translation experience a plus.
- Communication: Strong communicator to interact with employees at all levels of the company and convey information to internal and external sources.
- Technical: Competence of inventory transaction flow, ideally in a service environment.
- Administration: Proficient in MS office (strong Excel skillsets); Microsoft Dynamics SL knowledge; Strong attention to detail to recognize errors or inconsistencies; Systemic Thinking & Organization
- Interpersonal Relations: Strong internal/external customer service skills; Build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of people
- Leadership: Strong in Character, Composure, Care, Competence, Conviction & Competence - Ability to aid the decision-making process.
- Management: Self-motivated key and effective member of the shared services team, focus on key functional areas & key cultural elements to drive the finance value preposition.
- Strategic Thinking: Mindset on the long-term objectives to ensure financial metrics are aligned accordingly.
- Analytical and Conceptual: Problem Solving (ability to solve complex problems)
