What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic - 3rd Shift position at SEDA North America?
Seda North America is seeking an experienced Mechanic- Slitter/Blanking/Labeling to join our 3rd Shift Operations team! This position is fully on-site. The successful candidate will have the ability to install, troubleshoot, repair equipment to ensure optimal machine efficiency and continual flow of production through the manufacturing process. Third shift hours are Monday Through Friday from 11pm-7am.

Primary Responsibilities: Primary ownership of all maintenance requirements for area that includes Printing Press and related support equipment; Slitter; Blanking and Labeling equipment.

Specific Duties:
- Installation, repair and support of new production equipment.
- Work in concert with Facilities and Mechatronics teams for installation, repair and support of robotics.
- Breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment.
- Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
- Set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operations.
- Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use or to analyze malfunctions.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in similar mechanic role in manufacturing environment
- Knowledge in 5S, Microsoft Office Tools, Mathematical Computations, Problem Solving Skills, Metric System and FANUC & Mitsubishi Controllers a plus.
- Working knowledge of all site services including: Compressed air, vacuum and chilled water
- Fault finding and problem solving.
- Mechanicals, Electrical, PLC, pneumatics.
- Good written and verbal communication, time management and organizational skills, able to work well independently and be comfortable with using their professional judgment without supervision.
- HS Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or other certification a plus
Physical Demands (Required for Essential Duties & Responsibilities)
- Ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50lb weight unassisted
- Must be able to remain on feet standing and walking for 8-hour shift
- Comfortable working in noisy and loud environments
- Wear all required PPE and follow safety practices as instructed
- Must be able to read and write in English
