Pay: $26.19 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 to 5:00 & Friday, 8:00 to 3:00 with flexible schedule options available

The Human Resources Benefits Analyst is part of the benefits team, providing employees assistance and customer service with all areas relating to benefits offered through Sedgwick County. This position manages life insurance claims and is part of the claim review and appeal team. The position manages eligibility and other aspects of the Health & Wellness vendors, manages the administration of KPERS and KP&F retirement programs and oversees the process for all Sedgwick County retirements.
Benefits Management
Provide customer service to employees and other customers by phone, email or in person
Input benefit changes in accordance to plan provisions and legal requirements
Liaison between employees, benefit consultant and internal departments
Provide claim review and analysis on stop loss claims
Notifies employee of determination on health insurance appeals
Manage HSA and FSA contribution compliance
Provide direction for benefit enrollment, change and open enrollment processes and deadlines
Serve as the lead contact for employee benefits
Participate in regular phone calls, emails and in person vendor meetings
Non-Voting Member of the Sedgwick County 457(b) Deferred Compensation board
Monitor benefit vendor contracts for compliance and performance measures
Manage all benefit and wellness communications
Manage all life insurance claims
Ensure plan coverage meets ACA requirements
Present Benefits New Employment Orientation presentation as necessary
Create and conduct quarterly benefits training
KPERS and KP&F administration
Manage employees and eligibility in KPERS web portal
Provide information to KPERS as required
Monitor legislation for required process changes
Assist employees with buying back qualified time and DROP programs
Set up KPERS/KP&F meetings for employees
Process employer’s KPERS & KP&F disability and death forms
Retirement Process
Meet with potential retirees to discuss date and payout options-provide retirement application
Send completed application to KPERS
Order retirement gifts and coordinate distribution
Send list of monthly retirees to Communications
Minimum Qualifications: Four years of experience in Human Resources, benefits administration or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Five years benefits administration and/or experience in KPERS or other retirement systems. SHRM-CP, PHR, or PSHRA-CP
