Shift: 6:45 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: $21.00
Job Summary:
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable General Laborer – Scrap Metal Sorter to join our team. This position involves working in a fast-paced recycling facility, sorting and removing various types of metal from a moving conveyor belt. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, be able to work in a physically demanding environment, and follow all safety guidelines. Must be able to work in the elements of the weather.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manually sort and remove ferrous and non-ferrous metals from a conveyor belt
- Identify and separate different types of metals (e.g., aluminum, copper, steel)
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Assist with general labor tasks as needed, including cleaning, moving materials, and operating basic equipment
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet production goals
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Must be able to work in the elements of the weather
- Comfortable working in a noisy, dusty, and outdoor/warehouse environment
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions as needed
- Prior experience in recycling, warehouse, or general labor preferred but not required
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test, criminal background, and physical
