Production Supervisor
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor will report to the Plant Manager and will lead the operations of our production lines. The individual will oversee all aspects of operations, production schedules, employee management, and warehouse efficiency.
Responsibilities • Hire, train, and lead teams of machine operators to produce award winning product efficiently and safely. • Operate machines as needed based on staffing and business needs. • Troubleshoot equipment issues and work along side maintenance to resolve mechanical and technical problems. • Provide leadership in the areas of safety, morale, quality, cost, and operations. • Use ADP to manage employees, track attendance, track time off and record disciplinary issues. • Complete daily documentation and checklists for quality, production tracking and cleanliness. • Create a culture of respect, teamwork, and effectiveness. • Actively participate in work force planning, hiring, training, scheduling, and employee development to foster high performing teams. • Attend and actively participate in all production and scheduling meetings. • Control production schedules and packaging needs to achieve daily and weekly production goals. • Build effective alliances with other business units; Sales, Supply Chain, Production, Safety and Quality to ensure alignment of company priorities. • Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and any/all established processes, whether established by a manager, by the company or by law. • Must work in a safe manner and comply with all health, safety, security and emergency requirements. Assess workplace safety and coordinate with the management team to recognize and remedy potentially unsafe conditions.
Skills and Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years of management in a food manufacturing or similar • Experience in building teams as well as hiring, training and scheduling. • Extensive knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions associated with work • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and presentation skills • Self-directed, personally motivated, and strong attention to detail • Work effectively with the leadership team, key stakeholders, and employees to foster a positive and winning culture. • Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and others. • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, while focusing on meeting or exceeding expectations. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with employees, managers, and other stakeholders. • Forklift certified or willingness to become certified. • Self-directed, personally motivated with strong attention to detail. • Team player who works well with others and contribute to a positive work environment. • Use and enforce PPE use as required.
