JOB SUMMARY
The Outreach Specialist assists with planning and implementation of outreach programs and strategies in synch with program standards and goals. The Outreach Specialist will work as part of a team to (1) increase program awareness and participation in utility energy efficiency programs with a focus on income qualified customers; (2) build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders and community partners; and (3) increase program presence through local and regional events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Attend local and regional events to represent and promote energy efficiency programs to achieve weekly, monthly, and annual goals. Report accurate results of outreach activity after each event attended and provide feedback and strategies for improvements.
2. Develop relationships with key stakeholders and partners who support income-qualified customers.
3. Assist in developing outreach strategies to generate increased program participation.
4. Ensure that the utility’s brand is accurately displayed via print collateral and table displays.
5. Advise internal teams on any relevant program concerns and recommend changes to current procedures based on partner and customer interactions and feedback.
6. Ability to work independently from a remote office and report to a team.
7. Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
8. Complete relevant reporting as needed.
9. Performs related work as required.
10. Must be available for events that occur on some evenings and weekends.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Some college or equivalent work experience.
2. Proven successful track record in motivated marketing and outreach efforts.
3. Sales experience.
4. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with landlords, tenants, homeowners, contractors, government and agency personnel and the public.
6. Ability to prioritize activities and meet established goals and deadlines.
7. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle a variety of activities concurrently.
8. Work well independently or in a team environment.
9. Intermediate level of proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite application.
10. Ability to travel as needed. Current Michigan driver’s license and good driving record.
11. Able to pass company background clearance and substance abuse screening.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, PR, or related field.
2. Knowledge and interest in energy efficiency.
