What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Aide/Teaching Assistant position at SEEM Collaborative?
Reports to : Classroom Teacher
Qualifications : High School diploma, Associates or Bachelor degree. Experience working with elementary children with social / emotional / behavioral needs preferred
Scope of Duties :
- Responsible to and functions under the direction of the classroom Teacher.
- Assist the teacher in the delivery of instruction and the implementation of the IEP Goals and objectives.
- Ensure the safety of the students in all environments.
- Assist in facilitating independence, social awareness, language and appropriate behavior.
- Assist the teacher in the inclusion of students with special needs into the mainstream school.
- Assist the teacher in the collection of data.
- Participates in training in relevant areas.
- Driving students to work.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening.
