What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Provisioning Engineer I position at Segra?
Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced Data Provisioning Engineer I to work in a remote capacity.
Role Overview:
This position provides support of the SEGRA Networks, IP, and Ethernet Networks. The Data Provisioning Engineer I will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within one of the functional areas of the organization. The ideal candidate will come from a network engineering background with experience in Layer 2 provisioning experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in provisioning layer 2 services with Ciena.
- Experience or knowledge of troubleshooting layer 2 services.
- Knowledge of the OSI Model (Open Systems Interconnection Model).
- Knowledge of one or more of the following: VPRN, VPLS, MPLS, E-Access, FTTC, VLAN, Provisioning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
- Vendor certifications preferred but not required (Cisco, Ciena, Adtran, Alcatel-Lucent, Adva, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with various computer applications and Microsoft Office applications.
