What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Education/Health Teacher position at Segue Institute for Learning?

Instructional Responsibilities:
-Implements and designs instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
-Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and individual needs
-Collaborates to develop, align, and modify curriculum and assessments
-Assumes responsibility for meeting student performance goals in his/her course as well as school-wide student learning objectives
-Ensures that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification
-Implements PBIS and restorative practices to manage classroom
Professional Responsibilities:
-Collaborates to develop, align, and modify lessons, curriculum, and assessments (e.g. Performance Based Assessments)
-Maintains effective and efficient record-keeping procedures (parent communication log, behavioral log, student work samples)
-Collaborates with colleagues to enhance the instructional environment
-Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community
-Participates in professional development opportunities
-Follows all school safety procedures and protocols
Community Involvement Responsibilities:
-Provides a positive environment in which students and families are encouraged to be actively engaged in all facets of the learning process
-Communicates effectively with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis (e.g. phone calls, post cards, emails, parent teacher conferences, progress reports, etc)
-Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and community
-Performs other duties and responsibilities to meet the needs of our school
-Takes an active role in the school environment during and after school hours with individual initiatives or activities (field trips, school concerts, etc)
