The Details:

Location: Hybrid work Headquartered in Downtown Seattle, remote work possible from AZ, CA, CO, ID, FL, OR, TN, VA, WA.

Work Schedule: Our typical business hours are 8:30-5:00 PT Monday-Friday.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of the day.


About the Position:

Reporting to the Manager of Qualitative Research and part of the Research Insights and Innovations (RII) Department, the Mixed Methods Researcher II will lead studies to better understand beneficiaries of our health, training, and retirement benefits, as well as our impact on employers and clients. The role involves designing and executing research that integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to address key questions about caregiver health, workforce stability and career advancement.

The Researcher will collaborate across teams to deliver actionable insights, guide study design and enhance research quality. As a research consultant, they will support staff with research methods, design and analysis while fostering cross-functional engagement with partners, caregivers and shared services teams to ensure impactful outcomes. Refined analytical, communication and technical skills, paired with a solutions-oriented approach, are essential for success in this role.


You Will:

  • Help shape the research agenda and drive research projects from end-to-end;
  • Collaborate with research and business teams to define relevant questions and apply usable measurement strategies and methodologies to meet their business decision needs;
  • Develop qualitative and quantitative research approaches to solve a variety of problems;
  • Deliver insights and recommendations clearly to relevant audiences;
  • Design, implement, and manage all phases of study:
    • Develop research proposals, design and field eligibility screeners;
    • Collect data, conduct analyses and present research findings and lessons learned;
    • Complete formative market research or literature reviews on a topic of interest and clearly distill the primary findings and application for the organization;
    • Scope the research questions that encapsulate the business need and develop a qualitative, quantitative or mixed-methods study that could help answer the need;
    • Develop an evaluation framework for measuring the impact of a service, product or training provided by the Benefits Group;
    • Analyze quantitative data and advise on the strengths and limitations of the findings.
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative software packages to conduct analyses;
  • Author technical reports, white papers and journal articles;
  • Develop a deep understanding of specific client and industry issues;
  • Conduct document review and abstraction to answer key questions about caregivers;
  • Share best practices for research with key internal stakeholders;
  • Facilitate internal buy-in across the organization and with external stakeholders;
  • Actively engage with multiple project teams simultaneously on project design;
  • Drive interpretation and presentation of research results in a visual and impactful user-friendly fashion, including the creation of dashboards, presentations and reports to present key insights to stakeholders;
  • Make recommendations on appropriate, right-sized, research methodology and design that will deliver on organizational objectives;
  • From time-to-time, perform other duties commensurate with the level of this position.

You Will Need to Have:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in public health, anthropology, psychology, survey research, sociology, political science or other relevant field;
  • Intermediate skill-level with Qualtrics or other survey platform or eagerness to learn;
  • 3-5 years research experience in healthcare, public health, market research and/or related field;
  • 2 year experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, coding and analysis, or related work;
  • Comfort with thematic analyses, intercoder reliability and qualitative analysis software (e.g., Atlas.TI, NVIVO, Dedoose);
  • Knowledge in quantitative and survey research methodologies (e.g., descriptive analysis, bias correction for surveys, survey sampling and design, sample size calculation, regression modeling, causal inference with a survey outcome and cross tabulations, etc.);
  • Comfort with data manipulation and statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Stata, SQL, and/or Python);
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills with experience communicating analyses and results to a non-technical audience;
  • Experience translating research findings into strategic narratives;
  • A proactive mindset to anticipate business needs and apply cross-functional solutions.

It Will Be Great If You Have:

  • Experience researching and working on workforce development, turnover and retention and career supports related research;
  • Experience researching, working within the health care field and training or education related programs;
  • Experience authoring academic publications and white papers;
  • Experience applying for grants and reporting on grant-funded research;
  • Fluency in a language other than English, specifically Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Somali, Arabic, Ukrainian, Cambodian or Punjabi;
  • Experience analyzing medical claims data.

Preferred languages: Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese (written; Mandarin and Cantonese are the spoken versions), Somali, Amharic, Arabic

Salary Range:

  • $89,356.91to $113,194.66
