Job Title: Implementation Specialist

SEIU UHW-West & Joint Employer Education Fund
The Education Fund is a non-profit partnership between 6 Locals of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and 22 Healthcare Industry employers, serving the education and training needs of 100,000 eligible workers. Our mission is to empower our diverse healthcare workforce to advance in a changing environment through innovative education and training solutions. Our program and budget have doubled in scale over the last five years to provide career advancement and continuing education services to 20,000 learners annually, and we are positioned for continued growth with new partners and funding.
Principal Purpose of Job: Plans and coordinates implementation of education and training programs for healthcare workers represented by SEIU UHW-West and other union members who are eligible for Education Fund services.
Level of Authority: Performs duties independently and in conjunction with a team, setting priorities and scheduling own work under the general direction of the assistant director or program manager and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a complex setting both inside, and outside of the office, with frequent adjustments and the need to deal with a diversity of people and tasks. Position requires frequent visits to external collaborators and students, in addition to travel to training locations, some of which may include overnight trips.
Essential Job Functions
- Own data processing, validation and reporting for assigned programs
- Develops and maintains good relationships with educational vendors
- Owns document creation and maintenance for programs, including SOP’s, Program Overviews, Program Guides, Procedure Guides and Salesforce document library.
- Closeout enrollments, including completing sanctions, reporting outcomes and rollovers.
- Grants team: database management for grant reporting, special documentation
- Coordinates monthly provider meetings to request program enrollments and progress reports.
- Partners with PDS for program-specific needs and tasks.
- Submits regular written reports and ensures compliance with program requirements and goals.
- Work in conjunction with the program coordinator/ Regional coordinator, assisting with the implementation of programs and projects, including planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and projects.
- Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the assistant director or director of the programs.
Additional Job Functions
- May work with internal/external staff to conduct a survey of learners' academic readiness and/or skills using digital survey tools.
- May assist with recruiting participants for and facilitating worker committees set up to promote the Education Fund's work.
- Bring forth ideas that provide insight into our department, professional development of the staff, and positive health of the team.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Capabilities
- Minimum of one year experience planning and implementing educational or training programs preferred.
- Proficient use of basic Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, or other CRM systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience within a union and/or healthcare environment preferred.
- Must be committed to working within a labor-management partnership environment.
- Familiarity with project management concepts
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, coordination, and organizational skills are necessary.
- Flexibility regarding schedule and assignments
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Professional demeanor with the ability to create rapport with a diverse group of members and partners
- An automobile, California driver’s license, and auto insurance are also required.
Physical Demands
- Ability to drive and move from one site to another for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit at a workstation for extended time periods.
- Occasional ability to lift, and carry equipment or packages weighing up to 35 pounds
