Qualifications
Job Summary: The Community Awareness Liaison responsibility is to manage volunteers, awareness and development efforts for Selah Freedom with a focus in the assigned county/territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Awareness
- Actively secure speaking engagements for Selah Freedom.
- Conduct and manage Selah Freedom speaking engagements.
- Ensure Selah Freedom presentations are up to date and audience focused
- Create written materials.
- Update Awareness numbers (events and publications/media).
- Manage Faith Partner Database/Maintain Faith Partners and Develop new partnerships with faith communities.
- Help spread the word on advocacy efforts.
- Build and manage relationships with community partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets.
Volunteer
- Recruit community volunteers.
- Oversee and coordinate volunteer projects in Manatee and Sarasota County along with Volunteer advocate
Development
- Assist in creation and implementation of the Development Plan that incorporates a range of strategies including annual appeals, major donors, grants, corporate and individual appeals, social media and special events.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with donors, elected officials, and media outlet through weekly calls to donors and sending out weekly acknowledgements.
- Research, pursue and maintain mutually beneficial arrangements with the business community, including corporate sponsorships and donations.
- Attend networking events to increase professional network, refine relationship management skills, and enhance outreach and capacity.
- Manage events in Sarasota and Manatee Counties to include: budget, event preparation, set up, implementation, clean up and attendee follow up.
- Collaborates with the Executive Director and Awareness Manager to build and drive the organization's overall fundraising strategic goals.
- Meets prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications with them.
- Main team lead on Sarasota fall fundraiser.
Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors Degree preferred but relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree
- Previous experience coordinating volunteers, preferred
- Previous development experience, preferred
- Clean driving record required

Work Schedule
- Typical work schedule is 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Some work may involve nights, weekends, or after hours. Employee will receive proper notice beforehand.
