Our client, a leading asset management firm specializing in life and annuity reinsurance, is looking for a new Controller to add to their team. The Controller will be responsible for managing the financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls for the life and annuity reinsurance operations. This role requires a deep understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting principles, reinsurance accounting, and regulatory requirements. The Controller will work closely with senior management to provide strategic financial insights and support the company's long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and review of US Statutory (STAT) and GAAP financial statements. Ensure accurate and timely Blue Book reporting, asset schedules, and regulatory filings.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with rating agencies, investment management diligence, and regulatory requirements. Partner with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders.
- Operational Oversight: Supervise financial controls, risk management, and reinsurance accounting. Implement best practices for financial systems and reporting efficiencies.
- Leadership: Establish and oversee accounting, financial reporting, and capital management functions. Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, MBA, or CFA preferred.
- 10 years of accounting and finance experience within life insurance/reinsurance.
- Deep expertise in STAT, GAAP, and insurance accounting.
- Knowledge of MYGA, FIA, and other life insurance products highly desired.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and drive results under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
